New Orleanian car purchasers: given Tom Benson’s recalcitrant, hardball tactics with the Governor and the state over keeping the Saints in New Orleans, would you be less likely to buy a car from a Benson owned dealership? Or, perhaps, would you go out of your way not to support Benson’s businesses, as he won’t slightly renegotiate the “sweetest deal in NFL history” and prefers to instead play the fear game with Saints fans and the state of Louisiana?
What I’m getting at is: should we be talking about a boycott?

Benson is already setting up a boycott defense. He’s already sold several of his dealerships and is moving to change the names of the rest to take his name off the signs.
Already been avoiding his businesses for years. Mostly because of his propensity to try to screw up everyone else’s efforts to bring sports team “x” to New Orleans because he thinks that he’s the only guy that should be allowed to buy a hockey team, a baseball team, a basketball team, and an arena football team.
Tom Benson is a rich old man who has more money than God. Boycott will do no good.
He isnt about to bend for Blanco cause after all, he is a car salesman at heart, and they’re all the same…sharks! most of them are liars too! so dont believe the hype. The Saints will be in New Orleans long after Benson does his last boogie.
But, that is definitely wishful thinking. And that’s what being a Saints fan is all about!

No. I could give two shits about whether he moves the Saints or not. I’d prefer he didn’t, but it’s not like I could really blame him for doing so if it’s in his interest.
In fact, I’d consider buying another car from Benson despite the fact that I’m currently suing him for a lemon I bought from one of his VW dealerships. A Jetta, to be precise.
Despite that, if a Benson dealership had the car I wanted, and the price, I’d do business with him. He may feel differently after the lawsuit is concluded, but that’s another story.
As to where all the locals are, maybe they’re reading blogs that post substantive updates more frequently than you guys have been lately?
