Dennis the Menace

Looks like while I slept soundly in my bed last night, everyone else was being destroyed by tropical storm Cindy.

Did I miss any more damage in the quarter? Looks like all that was destroyed here were some bricks.

Dennis
is up next – it looks like we won’t be able to tell how close it’s coming until the weekend, where it’s suspected it will become a Category 2 or 3.

Someone might want to make a call to whoever cooked up the voodoo to protect us from Ivan.

It’s predicted to hit at the Florida-Alabama border right now, according to Accuweather and the Associated Press (http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050707/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/tropical_weather_dennis). The weather channel is hedging its bets though, by telling everyone from Texas to the Keys to to “monitor Dennis” – pansies won’t even say any particular spot is more likely to be hit.

Well, it’s enough to make me postpone my weekend in New Orleans by a week. I’m not so much worried about the storm as I am about having to deal with contgested Interstate traffic Sunday night trying to get back to Mississippi.

On the bright side, the new itinerary puts me in town for the newest Running With Scissors production.
