The bigger they are…..

Not that this is a surprise, given this area’s well-earned reputation for heavy eating.

It seems most days (though not today, for some reason), there are obits for folks like 29 or 33 dying of a heart attack or stroke. I know some of these are glossed-over drug deaths, but I’m still amazed at the number of younger folks who die in this manner in this part of the country.

I’m not advocating abandonment of the great food, but can’t we mix in a salad or something a little more often? It’s not like this isn’t available at similar cost in fast-food places.

Then again, something about today’s lunch at Bud’s Broiler up on City Park Ave. near Delgado was good for the soul.

But hey - I had tilapia and blanched green beans for dinner last night. It’s okay.

There’s a fuller version of the story here:

Oddly enough, though, the study didn’t include Hawaii, which is a pretty big flaw if you ask me. I mean, have you SEEN those people? Loving boudin is one thing, but living in the Spam capitol of the world is quite another.
