I-9 (the federal form not the road)

Much thanks to fellow metroblogger Tiffany Baxendell for this information:

“The Department of Homeland Security has announced that for the next 45
days, they will suspend I-9 enforcement for displaced hurricane victims
who may not have the required work eligibility documentation. They’ll
need a photo ID of some sort that establishes their residence in a
hurricane-affected area, and they’ll need a social security number.

That will allow them to work legally (like, for a temp agency wherever
they’ve been evacuated to) for 45 days while they get their
documentation
straightened out- request a new Social Security card, a new passport,
etc.”
