Don’t Look Down

We lost the Brown Derby on Louisiana Ave. this morning. The Derby was serving hot breakfast, it was a promising sign of life in the back o’town where there is minimal progress. There was a fire two blocks away from here yesterday, which I watched from my front yard. I feel like we’re losing our grip on the tiny ledge of a steep cliff . . .

I cannot fathom why shit keeps burning down. What the fuck is that about? Anyone know how many structures have burned so far this year? It must be a lot.

I suspect the insurance companies are forcing the owners

’cause they won’t pay for wind or flood properly.

Nagin’s being an ass to the firemen when shit’s burning down every other day. The firefighters clearly have leverage and can only assume dedication to the city is why they aren’t using it. But that doesn’t mean they won’t if they keep getting pressed.
