stagnation fatigue
It is hot outside. People are getting grumpy in the heat. New Orleanians are already ornery about nothing happening in this city and now the heat is roasting us into states of blind anger that I see errupting between individuals for no good reason. The Washington Post has run an article about Katrina fatigue in the media. Donor fatigue hit us months ago, and now people don’t even want to hear about us at all anymore. We don’t even want to hear about ourselves. I don’t even want to have conversations with people about how nothing is changing, the trash still needs to be picked up, the violence still permeates our neighborhoods and I am looking at this haze of perspiration that has been sitting atop the city since before 7:30 am this morning. I have reached a state of stagnation fatigue. Has that been recognized as a Medical Disorder yet?

I bet some massive rioting in an attempt to overthrow the local government out of dissatisfaction in leadership and organization would grab some headlines. Setting up armed barracades around the city and stealing some Coast Guard Cutters to sit, fully armed, in the river would do the job.
But then, just typing that wore me out. I’m too tired to fight. I have more house gutting to do and more roof to put on so I’ll have to join “Revolution New Orleans” at a later date. But please, feel free to start without me. I’d really like nothing more than to see local political figures on all levels evacuating the city out of fear.

I agree, fit me for my uniform and when I get finished getting drawn and quartered by my Insurance Company, I will suit up and fight
