Finally – Recycle Your Stuff In New Orleans!

With this information you have no excuse not to. My packrat-esque storage of all recyclable items is now vindicated! Yeehaw!

You can recycle your newspapers, metal scrap, cardboard, copper, paper, aluminum, and all personal electronic devices (including cell phones) at The Green Project, 2831 Marais St. [map] during business hours: Tue-Sat, 9-4.

The business is located in the Treme one block lakeside of St. Claude and their phone number is (504) 945-0240.

Nah — the Green Project is in a decent area. Speaking of such, we also want to go browse the Habitat for Humanity store again.

Maitri, this is good news. I always have recycled my trash, and the last several months have seen me unhappy at not being able to recycle.

The Green Project is 5 blocks away, and I’ll be carting bags to them from now on.

    Thanks!

    Yes, finally!!!!!!!!!

We have a lot of (non-storm-damaged) old clothes, outgrown baby clothes, etc. Are any of the local thrift stores accepting donations again?

    Samantha, don’t be a pussy.

Cade, Bloomin’ Deals thrift store on Freret accepts clothes for resale (the money goes to the Junior League, if that’s alright with you). The Covenant House on Rampart (and Toulouse) accepts donations as well.

And you can recycle glass at the Tulane Art Studio.

Okay, since we are onto recycled clothes, this girl needs to get some things because she has to go back to work as a waitress.

All of my pre-Deluge places for this sort of thing are gone.
