Hello!
I am French and I'm studying in Loyola. I like this website, it is interresting to know what New-Orleans 's inhabitants think about their own city.
(Sorry for my English, I have to improve it!)

I say they hire me or someone equally profane...

Honestly, they're just profiteers. Don't think they'll help anything or anyone, based on their track record. I hope they prove me wrong...but again, look at their record, in every single country where they do business.

And ask them if they're still boycotting the Dixie Chicks.

I think if Clear Channel started behaving like a normal radio station - announcing local events, discussing local issues, putting any sort of local flavor into their broadcasting would be a help. I see Clear Channel as the Walmartization of the radio, so anything that is the opposite of what they do now would be good.

Maybe they could buy up all the independently owned media outlets over a period of years and then start making decisions on a macro scale?

That would be nice.

WRNO is changing to talk radio. I called them about advertising. They don't know when, but soon. The rep said that the execs were waiting to see what kind of talent they could get. He did say that Andre Trevigne was high on their list, as well as Rob Couhig. I need a talk radio station that has affordable advertising. WWL is way outrageous with their prices.

Having a talk station on Fm that would announce the goings on and meetings and ideas around town would be somewhat helpful.

I always find out afterwards when I see the events on the news.

I could never figure out how people knew about these things.

Explaining rules about putting trash on the curb could be helpful. People have taken to just throwing anything out on the curb at any time. A massive multilingual re-education campaign is in order.
