Dear Office of Emergency Preparedness,

Incident%20command.JPG

This letter is to officially inform you that your abandoned vehicle if still located at the corner of Constance and Washington in New Orleans, 70130.

I have emailed your office on numerous occasions since I returned a year ago today. I used to call you once a week but I was tired of the run around. I know you’ve been busy this last year but I thought that maybe you’d might want to claim your property, just in case you needed it for future use. Even if the van doesn’t run anymore you may be able to salvage the tires or the tools inside of the van. If you’ve parted emotionally with the van and never want to see it again, please drop off the paperwork and keys to me and I can put it to good use. Heck, I still am in need of a way to transport a few sheets of 4X12 drywall that won’t fit on top of my Subaru. And when I’m done, I’ll post the van on Craigslist in the “free” category.

Give me a call when you decide.

Sincerely,

Tax Payer

Jeez…Since you obviously tried to do the right thing, and the “officials” haven’t responded….I think you and activist/fellow blogger Laureen Lentz should get together, hot wire the thing and put it to good use. In the likely event it wont start, perhaps there is someone on this blog that could help.

And don’t scrape the official letters off. I suspect they have been a faux protection after all this time. Why else would it still have tires?

    Love
    Drury

I’ve had my eye on that vehicle for a year. My friend lives down the block on Washington. Anyone a hot-wire expert?

It is a government vehicle right? Then I’m sure some idiot left the keys in it. Just go bust a window (if it hasn’t been done already) and drive that sucker away. The Feds won’t need it till the next FEMA emergency and it won’t be until 6 months have passed that they actually use it
