Anyone who thinks they can impersonate someone from a time or place that they know only peripherally is an idiot. I am getting tired of being offended, though. Some asshole from GQ wrote one of the most ignorant cuisine reviews I have ever read about a city. He doesn't know what a Creole is, he thinks the city is Cajun, and he complains about oysters he ordered in July. But then I think to myself, "this asshole writes for GQ and I would imagine most of their readers are assholes if they actually swallow that crap regularly" so it isn't worth my time to be offended, really. I've seen it and it was not in bad taste. They were houses in the background that looked like homes in New Orleans. IMO, it was adding a human element to the catastrophy. It was short story, short stage act of how one indivdual from New Orleans may have been effected. He had his bad Satchmo impression going, but in all - it was good.
