picking up
Monday was Memorial Day and I thought to myself “Surely my trash won’t be picked up on a national holiday” and sure enough, trash was picked up on a holiday. There was no disruption to the service whatsoever. I guess this is what happens when you have a private company doing a job the city was incapable of managing. I know some people aren’t so into the new system, but personally, I am fond of the efficiency. Also, the French Quarter doesn’t stink. So good work, trash picker-uppers! You are more dedicated to your job than my mailman, who may deliver through snow and hail, but certainly not if he simply doesn’t feel like it (which seems to happen at least two days a week).
