I went by Shaggy’s today based on this very recommendation, and the Chicago dog did indeed hit the spot. Thumbs up from this hotdog lover. I will be sojorning there sometime during a lunch break next week to try this porkchop sandwich as well…

The same friend who herded us to Easy Dogs also mentioned Shaggy’s ( apparently a friend of her’s runs the joint). I dunno what it is… But Weiners/frankfurters/dogs is my food craving of late.
Diabetes be damned… Gimme one loaded!!!!

TBK and I can vouch for the fun at Easy Dogs (which is closed Sunday and Monday), having experienced it this past Saturday night on the recommendation of some friends. After 9pm on Saturday (and I think another night of the week), the place goes Adult with a joke bingo game that is, in a word, hilarious and well-worth the time. The dogs are wonderful (they also have a Frito pie that’s excellent), the beer selection (and a full bar) is very good and the company is all Yat. I was expecting hokey but found lots of fun. The owners have created an entertainment monster that will quickly outgrow the small confines (across the street from the Farmer’s Market pavilion in downtown Gretna).
