Accupuncture? Kosher Meals? Bands? WTF? We couldn’t even get water down here. With all the issues popping up, Jordan, Shepherd, flooding streets…that story just makes me want to shoot myself in the face.

What kind of fucking moron wrote this article? What’s the difference? The real difference? They actually have a working infrastructure in San Diego. They’ve got electricity, food and fucking acupuncture.

How many people from NO who were stranded stopped whining and volunteered to do something at the stadium when Katrina hit? A lot of the homeless in SD are volunteering instead of complaining. They are not expecting others to take care of them without helping to take care of themselves and others. I’m from LA and let me tell you I’m so happy to see that someone has learned from the do-nothingness of the people in NO.

You stupid fuck, the stadium here was surrounded by 10 feet of water. Don’t write on here acting like Cali is some freakin heaven. Im sure our “homeless” would have helped for free accu-fucking-puncture and sushi.

Wow, LivesinSD, what an ignorant comment. Please write back when an earthquake hits LA and you are trapped for days under a pile of rubble. Will you be offering free massages the next day?
And since you’re from LA, I’ll end with – like, I’m so sure.
“volunteering instead of complaining. They are not expecting others to take care of them without helping to take care of themselves and others.”
Should the Superdome evacuees have prepared for 4 days instead of one? Probably. But a lot can be said in hindsight; this comment, sadly, sounds like it’s straight from the ignorant Kneel Boortz.

“You stupid fuck” My, my, my. Southern manners at their best. Careful, or you’re going to remind me why I don’t want to live there anymore. Oh and “like, I’m so sure” LA = Louisiana.
I’m very much aware the stadium was surrounded by water, and since I have family that live in NO, I’m also very much aware that evacuation orders were given with plenty of time to follow them – however, they were ignored by far too many, weren’t they. Having gone to LA public schools I can understand how people don’t understand what the word “mandatory” means.
And I’ve also had the misfortune to live in Japan during typhoon season (6 of them, actually), so yes, they should have been prepared for more than 1 day. I have a lot of sympathy for them, and am hoping that they too have learned from Katrina, and from the Cedar fires and from the current fires going on.
Believe me, I’m no fan of Bush or anyone in his administration, but I do believe in cooperation in times of disaster, and there has been a lot of that going on here.

LIVEINSD,
My manners are fine, southern or not. For someone that lived here or has family here, you should have been the first to know you cannot compare disasters, much like 9-11 and Katrina were different, Katrina and the wild fires are different situations.
No one sits here and says all the locals were right and it’s the feds fault. We KNOW the mistakes that were made, we just don’t need it thrown in our face while were still trying to recover.
We have more sympathy than you can ever imagine for the people of San Diego. Feel free to point out the successes of your local state and federal assistance in this matter. Just don’t tell us that we should have done it this or that way when we all know water and fire don’t mix.
