sloppy joes

I plan on throwing a party soon and serving sloppy joe’s for dinner. What goes well with sloppy joe’s? Any ideas for accompaniments?

    Cole slaw.

Spicy cole slaw if the joe sauce is sweet…creamy cole slaw if the joe sauce is spicy.

    Key lime pie for dessert.

    grilled corn!

boil some ears of corn – when done dry them off and butter (mo butter!) salt & pepper then wrap in foil.
place those babies on the grill for a good hour.

    yumbo. :)

I’d make potato salad to accompany the sloppy joe’s–and big up’s to the previous poster who suggested key lime pie; I made one today to go with the turnip greens and black-eyed peas that I serve for luck in the new year. And speaking of which, best of luck to all up there in NO for 2008, may we both be blessed with another hurricane-free hurricane season this year.

Oh yeah, cole slaw ALL the way. Baked beans are good. And beer.

I ended up with mashed potatoes, vegetarian chili, beer, and wine spritzers. Ice cream cake for dessert. I was going to have potato salad but I bought some pre-made and they had a repulsive surprise inside that made me throw out all that I had bought.
