An on going debate

I just finished watching the big debate in New Hampshire and I just want to voice a bit of a disappointment, though in truth I was not surprised. A question was posed to the Democratic candidates about what we should do as a country to prevent the very likely event of a nuclear bomb devastating an American city. The candidates moved right into what they would do AFTER a potential attack and not one of them mentioned sending aid to the devastated city. They each repeated ‘the first thing I would do is…’ but not one of them even mentioned helping out the American people who were actually attacked. They would all head out to retaliate but I guess they would just leave the people on the ground in our own country to rot once again. Did we not learn from Katrina? I do not think that is a stupid question just possibly a little redundant. And I am a democrat too.

They were trying to win the swing vote. I’d like to think the immediate response was assumed.

I guess the problem with that is before the storm I always assumed they would respond too. Now I think it needs to be said so we can start to believe it again.

Very likely? As far as I can tell, such an attack is very unlikely. What makes you think it is likely? So far only one country has ever used nukes and it wasn’t on an American city…

Very redundant considering the dems created the political and economic stance of Louisiana. Perhaps if we quit identifying ourselves as “democrat too” we could pressure weasels for ethical responses.
I grew up in New Orleans and my home will always be New Orleans but as long as the people there only consider one party as the only option I can not but resist their whines.

when I say ‘very likely’ I am only using the term Charles Gibson (the moderator of the debate) used. I should have been more clear on that since I don’t really know if it is likely or not.

Sorry Lou I didn’t know I was whining also I was born and raised in Florida so I am very aware of the other parties. Watched that debate too and somehow wasn’t impressed either. Oh Well.

LOL..If you people would vote your “conscious” instead of a party, you would probably be more at ease with yourselves. As far as a nuclear detonation, in this day and time, the way nation leaders run around threatening each other’s country (to include Bush), anything is possible, just make sure your religious house is in order. When it comes to nuclear detonation, certain “other” people have “your” life in their hands, and frankly there is nothing you can do about it. It’s all about political ego’s.

Well, if when I go into the voting booth I don’t see any candidates worth hiring for the job, I’m walking out.
