I think this is it for New Orleans. This could very well be the last straw for people, especially if the city is more devastated this time around.

It would be cheaper to pack up and move the city than to continue evacuating multiple times a year and rebuilding thereafter.

I hope for the best.

I watched the blogs during Katrina and kept the candle burning. I'm about 30 miles from the Gulf in a small town south of Houston and there, but for the chance, it could come here.

Keep safe and dry. I hope N.O. doesn't have problems like last time.

Daneeta from London Metblogs here. We are homeless before this whole party gets started. A month ago, we got rid of our flat and sold all of our things with the aim of moving back home to NOLA to be with my family. We've been couch surfing in London and finishing off our work. We were originally supposed to fly out on the 1st, but we got delayed because of work. Now, our reservations are for the 8th. My mom has evacuated. My sister and her family have evacuated. All of my fellow Loyola Alumni have evacuated. I am now praying for the impossible: that the storm spins itself out in the Gulf with no major threat to anyone. If New Orleanians are left homeless, so will we be.

Craig, I was looking forward to eating at your restaurant and sharing a beer. I am still looking forward to that. Keep yourself and your family safe.

My thoughts, prayers, vibes, and everything are with you and TBK and the rest of the city. I know you have a good plan in place. I've followed your struggle to build this business back for your family and your city and totally understand your decision to stay.

I know those people that are eating your yummy food today are grateful you are there. Please keep us updated when you can.

Thanks for keeping us updated- we'll be praying for the city. I'm so sorry that you're having to go through this again. I went down to Slidell to help out after Katrina, and the amount of cleanup left to do was simply unfathomable. Hope you can keep updating Metblogs as long as you've got power.
