Abita Pub Crawl

Tonight, Abita is having their seasonal Pub Crawl. The Abita brewery makes five brews that they rotate throughout the year. These beers are called the seasonal brews. Around the time that a new Seasonal Brew is set to hit store shelves and bar taps, Abita throws a bit of a party, called a Pub Crawl. The idea is simple. Start of at one bar. Drink $1 Abita Beer for an hour or so. Move on to the next bar. Drink more $1 Abita Beer. Continue for 3 or 4 bars… pass out. Tonight the poison of choice is Abita Wheat.

The party will start tonight with registration at the Contemporary Arts Center, from 6 till 8pm. The first 400 people to register will receive a free t-shirt. At 8:00 the fun will move on to The Ugly Dog Saloon (I have been told that they have the best BBQ in town, but we all know that Craig actually has the best). Finally, at 9:00 things will move on down to Tchoup N Joe’s.

So, who’s up for drinking some good cheap beer with me tonight?

By the way Kristen, I love the entrance to your website! “disclaimer: shut up.” That is great!

How do you get from site to site. Spare me the “crawl” answer, you ass. Also, where’s the last stop?

BTW I love the Ugly Dog BBQ and might have been one of the people to tell you it’s the best in town. Sorry about that. At the time though, in my defense, I probably hadn’t had any of your BBQ and I still haven’t had any when I’m sober to make a good judgement on it – hint hint…..lol

I assume you mean Craig Giesecke’s BBQ, not mine. Because there is nothing special about my BBQ.
I am about to correct my post to correctly credit Craig as having the best BBQ in town.
Craig are you still doing BBQ, or is it just cheese now?

I assume that one would either walk, or find themselves a designated driver.

Yes, I meant Craig’s BBQ but hey, I’m willing to eat anyone’s BBQ – I’m a simple man.

Walk? piss on that. heh heh.I’m a “set an’ drink” kinda guy myself.

I am in the cheese business once again — the BBQ is on hiatus until proper inspections are done. But back to the Beer Thang…

If TBK and I can rustle up the cash, this goes on our list of definite possibilities. Thanks for the heads up.

Jack, I think I have come up with a solution to your “set an’ drink” dillemna. Show up at the CAC to register and get the t-shirt, then go immediately to the last stop, Tchoup N Joe’s at 870 Tchoupitoulas. You’ll beat the crowd and get lots of beer.
Also, if anyone can’t make it to the CAC by 8pm, feel free to show up anywhere along the route. You just won’t get the free t-shirt.

Still sounds like a good deal of “moving around” and then I end up drunk on the far side of town from where I live.

Now, that last part is a serious problem :) Its why neighborhood bars are great!

Oh yeah guys. Don’t forget about the Freret St. Festival this Saturday. I will be heading out of town tomorow morning, so I will miss it. Maybe someone else could post something about it on here.

we’ll try to hit the Freret st fest after we do a cheese tasting at langensteins. It looks like a good time will be had by all.

Craig & TBK, it was lots of fun meeting you both yesterday! The cheese was delicious. I spoke with my girlfriend who I was with and she told me her boyfriend LOVED the smoked cheddar. I was nuts over the smoked habanero cheddar, must be the beer thing! It’s not for breakfast anymore!:D
Please keep the readers informed about where we can purchase your goods; I’d like to support your efforts as best I can.
The Freret St. Fest was really nice. I got to see old friends (lived on Freret in the 80’s) and just walk around. It was laid back and the weather was perfect. The highlight for me was Washboard Chaz, I love those guys.
Take care; you two seem like such kind people. :)
