There is a gem of a show playing in the French Quarter every Saturday night in June. Bustout Burlesque is a meticulous re-creation of the kind of strip-tease nightclub act that it was possible to see on Bourbon Street in the 1950s. It’s playing at Tipitina’s French Quarter location, which is on North Peters between Iberville and Bienville. There are two shows, one at 8:00 and one at 10:00. There are tables in front and chairs in the back, and you can reserve a table. I saw it last weekend and I was enchanted. It’s sexy, funny and charming. I think it would be great for a date, but not a first date! Make reservations now: 504-975-7425.

Meanwhile, around the corner on Decatur, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is playing at the House of Blues tonight. I’ve never seen them, but word has reached me that I would like it, so off I will go! Tickets are $22.

Those burlesque dancers look all to be in their 30s.

I guess ANONYMOUS point was that they are far to young to know what they are doing. Minimun age is 75 so they could have been in the show in the ’50’s.

    And your point is…

They should have gone to law school.

Of course I could be wrong, the point might be at the top of his or her head.

Huh? For all I know, they could be in law school. I feel sure that all of them are graduates of dancing school.

From what I can tell, they’re really hot. But what do I know. I’m in my 30s.

A date? What is that? I can’t quite recall. I may have had one once – back in the day, but it’s faint, sad memory of when I was young and attractive.

    So sad.

Jack Ware – Maitri, Covington and I have all expressed our interest in going on a date with you. Between us, you have been offered a veritable salad bar of femaleness – young, old, dark, fair, country, city, short, tall and medium. Stop moanin’ and start phonin’. Jesus H. Christ already. The blond helps those who help themselves. So does the exotic brunette.

You’re all just toying with me…

    …which I find mean.
