Write something!!

National Novel Writing month starts in just a few hours. I did this a couple of years ago and failed at it horribly. I did get a lot of writing done but I didn’t finish. Sadly, I really don’t have time for this right now. So I’m asserting right now that I will do it next year. And in the mean time, if anyone is doing it this year, let me know so I can throw you some good props.

For those who are unfamiliar, here’s a link that explains it all:

I actually have part of a novel written, but I lost the muse when the story turned into Real Life. What used to be made-up is now made-real on a day-to-day basis (most of it, at least). But maybe I’ll get back to it at some point. I’ve saved it all.

Sailing. Gulf of Mexico. New Orleans. Sex. Food. Drugs. Bad guys. Quirky heroes. It’s all there.

I’m in. 1700 words per day for 30 days? who needs a life, or friends, or anything other than a few hours of keystroke time?

I was going to do it this year but too many things going on this November. I am going to start telling people early next year that I can’t go anywhere or do anythihg big during the whole month of Nov.

I have tried to write a novel repeatedly but loose interest or just plain give up after a few chapters this is the perfect way to push yourself to keep going even if it turns out like crap 50,000 words is a big accomplishment to get on paper.

It’ll be a horror science fiction about swarms of mosquitos that dehydrate the earth and the planet breaks into li’l pieces and floats into the atmosphere burning up while some lucky mosquitos make it to mars smelling out the water and lay the second coming of the martians.
