Bright Orange Wave

Parking Tickets (1)   Parking Tickets

Apparently, tonight was the opener for the Tulane Green Wave baseball in their new digs. I drove by the stadium on my way home and I noticed that hundreds of SUV’s parked on the neutral ground there on Claiborne. I had to take a photo because, honest to God, every damn one had a ticket for this parking violation. Tulane won handily, so I am sure it was worth it. I work nearby and it was a rainy day, not a parking-ticket-bandit to be seen in our area and I didn’t have to go out and do the parking rotation. Nice work, Green Wave . . oh, and nice fireworks too.

I went to Ted’s Frostop today and drove by this area.
The Neutral Ground is all tore up because these folks parked there while the ground was wet and soft.
Drives me nuts that people desecrate our neutral grounds this way. No fine is too high.
I think if Tulane is going to host the games, they either need to hire parking patrol to keep people off the NG, or re-sod it at their expense — they’re certainly making enough off of tix and concession sales…..

my thing about this is every time their is something going on at sweet loraines , the sports palace (the old jaegers on elysion fields), pampys, or the zulu club people park on the neutral ground with no tickets.

these are places i drive by daily and know about. i cant speak for other neutral grounds.

i think the neutral grounds should be developed with graded curbs, entrances and exits, and landscapeing like they did on harrison ave.

hell you could even put parking meters up there for the lunch crowd. the meters only run untill 6 p.m. in the rest of the city.

it pisses me off that the people who have the hook up are able to have their patrons park on the neutral ground while other spots have their patrons get tickets

    it aint rocket science brah.

i hope at some point the a.g. and the city council will make this an equal deal for all.

probably after the 2010 election with any luck.
